Blog Fail & easter sessions

It’s official. We totally suck at blogging. We were doing so well there, for like a week. Then we would get busy, and not blog for a while, then we would start ignoring all of our ‘blog appointment’s’ we physically scheduled in our calendar. Then we stopped talking about blogging all together, for fear of the sinking feeling in our stomach we get when we bring it up. That feeling of failure.

We so totally want to be good bloggers. But we’re not. So I’m not going to make promises anymore of how often and what we’ll blog. I know we need to blog a couple times a week. The more often we’re out there, the more business we generate. When I was on a roll with our blogging, our inbox was literally full daily – to the point we couldn’t keep up – I’m thinking subconsciously I was getting overwhelmed by that, so I backed off the blog.  We’re booked almost solid until October now, but do have some weekday availability left.

So, we’ve been busy. January was so busy it was insane. Our boudoir sessions turned out amazing. We were so happy with the way things turned out. February was also a blur. I think between January and Feb we had 13 newborns to shoot. Crazyness. Then came the wedding boom. We’re starting to fill up for 2013 (we still have some spots left) and booked the remaining weddings for 2012. We’re at 17 weddings, and would consider taking maybe one more, but we want to cap it at 18 this year. Same with 2013 – we’ll be taking 18.

Over the last couple weeks, we’ve had a run of bad luck. It happens, we’re human. My entire house hold was hit with the Flu, and I mean bad flu. If you follow me on Instagram, you’ll know my littlest one was in the hospital she was so sick (only a photographer photographs their sick one in a hosptial lol) – and this has made things difficult keeping up with editing and getting CDs out. But we managed to catch up – So big thank you to our wonderful clients who had to wait a couple extra days for their photos! Also, Tanya’s car blew up in the driveway last week while she was trying to get her kids to school, and instead of being concerned about  her car or her kids, she was more worried about how she was going to make her 11:30 photo shoot.  But thank goodness our luck is turning around – My kids are healthy (knock on wood) and Tanya’s car is all fixed up.

At the beginning of March we hosted our first workshop , which went extremely well! The following weekend we did our Easter mini sessions. We didn’t go with the bunny has we had the last 3 years, because I’m so allergic to them. And, because everyone and their brother is doing the bunny so we figured we’d try something different. So we searched Pinterest for some ideas, found some great ones, then sat down with Vicki from Posh Beyond and we brain stormed on what we could do. We came up with the cutest Easter tea party set ever. We had delish cupcakes from CupCAKE and adorable cake pops from the girl with the most cake. And, because we can’t resist a cute frame, we got a couple yellow Sweet Soda Frames.

Here’s a pull back of our Easter set:
