She waited. A very long time for this day. I’m pretty sure this was the theme of the wedding, through the speeches, everyone said that she patiently waited for that day at the cottage when he finally proposed. And after he finally asked the question – the started planning their dream wedding……… in Costa Rica.
As you can tell from the title of this blog post, the wedding didn’t happen in Costa Rica. Luckily (for me! LOL) the Best Man and Maid of Honour (who are married to each other) we expecting a baby the month they were planning the wedding. All of a sudden Erin and Dale had to switch gears and jump into planning a wedding at home. Problem was, they didn’t want a typical wedding, no Golf Courses, Country Clubs or Event Centres for these two. They wanted funky – off beat.
And oh man did they deliver. I shot this wedding with Nick the day after Tanya and I shot Shaunacey’s & Brents. I woke up a bit, well – miserable you could say, and I’m pretty sure I chewed out both my Mom and Sister when I dropped my kids off on the way to Erin’s house. However, as soon as I walked in the door to Erin’s place – my mood changed. Something ‘clicked’. Maybe it was my ‘a ha’ moment: Oh this is why I love wedding photography. So I quickly got over my sour mood, and ignored my sore feet – and shot the heck out of this wedding! I loved every single part of this day (as I do all weddings) but this one is particularly fond for me because I know Erin personally – and I’ve totally developed a crush on Dale. These are two of the coolest, and nicest people I’ve met.
And this wedding? It rocked my socks….and Dales too apparently.
Erin – all the hard work and planning you did over 9 or 10 months paid off. This day ran like clock work. Your church was amazing, I loved how quickly we did the formal shots after – I can’t even count how many different locations we shot at, but we did so at record time I swear. I loved the restaurant – but even more so loved the Twist Gallery where you held your reception. SUCH an amazing space. Oh, and I can’t forget. Thanks for coming outside when I spotted firefighters – and thanks for picking me to be your photographer. I’m going to miss our emails!!
So I started at Erin’s – and Nick took off to meet the guys downtown. I was in heaven with her details, as their house is gorgeous, and I could have shot there all day if I had time….(as a side note, Erin and Dale were on Income Property on HGTV a while back, to fix up their basement)
