I feel like we’re catching up on Wedding blog posts! For those of you with Maternity/Newborn/Family sessions, I promise they will be blogged soon as well.
We shot Haley and Mark’s wedding exactly 4 weeks ago today. We were over the top excited for this wedding, because Belcroft is amazing!! It has so many amazing locations for photos. We didn’t even tap into them all. Another reason we were excited, was Haley and Mark opted for a first look. We had a couple brides do them last year, and we love love love first looks! It makes the day flow much smoother, we get 90% of the portraits done BEFORE the ceremony, which doesn’t leave us feeling rushed, and I think it relaxes the bride and groom a bit too. Plus, Haley and Mark got to enjoy their cocktail hour.
Now. What I wasn’t expecting was just how crazy fun the bridal party was going to be. I (Nicole) always shoot the guys and when I took them out for their portraits, none of them were smiling. To get them to smile, they told me the magic word I had to use. I’m not even sure I can type that word on my blog, so lets just say it’s similar to “Libya”. So I had to shout this word and they smiled or would do what I told them. This became the word of the day. At every family photo, the guys (even the father of the bride) would scream the magic word. I have never laughed so hard at a wedding.
I’d also like to give a shoot out to Haley for having her bridesmaids DANCE down the isle to the Glee Version of “Marry You”. Tanya and I are huge Glee fans, and this made our hearts happy.
I could go on and on about the things we loved about this day (like Mark crying during his speech) But I’ll stop talking now and get to the pictures.
